Some of the buffet restoran also provide Japanese food. Now, when we talk about Japanese food, what is the first thing come to your mind? SUSHI!!!! I am a sushi lover~ I am also a sashimi lover~~Let's know more about sushi. Literally, "sushi" means "it's sour" as it is considered as a fermented product. fermentation of fish packed in rice is that the vinegar produced from fermenting rice breaks the fish down into amino acid, which is the simplest form of protein. The oldest form of sushi in Japan, narezushi, still very closely resembles this process. In Japan, narezushi evolved into oshizushi and ultimately Edomae nigirizushi, which is what the world today knows as "sushi".
~Sushi~
There are different types of sushi. Nigirizushi ("hand-formed sushi") consists of an oblong mound of sushi rice that the chef presses into a small rectangular box by hand. The topping usually is salmon, tuna or other seafood. Some of the toppings such as octopus (tako) or squid will be bound to the rice with a strip of nori which is also known as seaweed. Makizushi ("rolled sushi") is a cylindrical piece, formed with the help of a bamboo mat. It is usually wrapped with nori. Oshizushi ("pressed sushi"), is a pressed sushi which is a favourite and specialty of Osaka. Inarizushi is a pouch of fried tofu filled with usually just sushi rice. Chirashizushi ("scattered sushi") is a bowl of sushi rice mix with other ingredients. Narezushi ("matured sushi") is a traditional form of fermented sushi. There is also Western-style sushi which is rare in Japan but typically found in North America and Europe. California roll is one of the examples of western-style sushi.
Sashimi is thinly sliced, raw seafood. Many different kinds of fresh fish and seafood are served raw in the Japanese cuisine. The difference between sashimi and sushi is sashimi does not have the sushi rice. It is usually dipped into soya sauce before eat it. Different kind of sashimi will also accompany by different condiment such as gound ginger, wasabi and so on. I love salmon fish the most~Other than that, i also like to eat tempura. tempura is actually a deep fried vegetable or seafood. However, not recommended to eat it frequently as it is oily~
